My Story
I first started selling my advice online back in 2019.
I was selling advice on the Keto diet and to be honest…
Everything was going great.
• I was helping a ton of people • It made me $12,364 in the first 35 days
And overall, was just a super low stress business.
But like most stories you hear online…
That all came crashing down in early 2021.
In 2021, I decided to cut my profitable fitness business so I could chase what most people call a “unicorn company”.
The idea was that my friend and I would:
• Start an e-commerce watch company • Hire 30+ employees • Get a huge office • Then in 5-7 years… Sell for $300M
This all sounded great on paper…
But little did we know, we had been walking blindfolded the whole time.
In 2022, the watch company fell apart.
• We had $60k in credit card debt • Manufactures were late on orders • Our software expenses were sky high
The company was BLEEDING money…
So a hard decision had to be made.
After working 1,000+ hours on this company over the past 15 months….
I chose to shut it down.
1.3 years of my life gone.
Now most would view a series of events like this as traumatic, but for me, it was quite the opposite.
These hard times really gave me some time to reflect.
Reflect on what I REALLY want in life.
When we started the watch company, I thought I wanted:
• A huge office • 30-50 employees • The “CEO lifestyle” you see in TV shows
But in reality, I never wanted any of that.
What I truly wanted was the lifestyle I already had.
In 2019, I had it all.
My one-person remote business gave me everything I could ask for.
• It required very little of my time
• I didn’t have to answer to anyone
• I took as many vacations as I wanted
• I would take afternoon hikes and come back to $200+ collected in my account
And the list goes on and on…
So after my time reflecting, I went back to what I know best.
Being a “lazy solopreneur” as I like to call it.
Just a guy building his little one-person business to $80,000/month, automating it, then retiring on a beach somewhere.
But most importantly, sharing lessons learned along the way, so that hopefully, my journey may help others do the same.
